HI, if you're visiting this blog as a result of seeing the beautifully decorated organic tree in the Boston Globe's G section, then please read on to get the templates & directions for making these lovely ornaments direct from the designer as shown on the tree of Pamela Copeman of Hingham.
Paper chains - we used old book pages in 6" lengths by 1" width and stapled them together. We then sprayed them with silver glitter to make them sparkle on the tree.
Bird Ornaments: cut from scrapbook papers and in some cases decorative paper bags or wrapping paper. Template below. We punched a 1/8" hole at top and threaded a silver pipe cleaner 4" long and bent into a hook.
Paper Cones (Cornucopias): Made in 3 sizes from old book pages. Template follows. Curl paper in on itself and use scrapbooking adhesive to glue seam. Use old paintbrush and watered down Elmer's glue lightly around the top and sprinkle with silver German glass glitter. Punch 1/8" hole on opposite sides of top and thread silver pipe cleaner through to make the hanging top. Fill with dried hydrangea or baby's breath.

Use this template full size for medium cone. Enlarge by 20% on copier for larger size.
Templates for small and medium bird. Print full size, trace, cut out, jewel for eye and punch hole for pipe cleaner hook.
Enjoy your beautiful tree knowing you made it beautiful and our planet thanks you too.
